Academic Activities and Dissemination:

The University runs three Schools with 11 subjects. (1)School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies:  Bengali, English, Santali and Sanskrit; (2) School of Social Sciences: Political Science, History, Philosophy, Education, Law, Social Work; (3) School of Science: Mathematics. After the completion of First Semester, the students are attending the classes of Second Semester.

 

The University will establish the Jamini Roy Centre for Art and Culture with the unconditional  donation of the land and a huge collection of art objects ( art, craft, sculpture and paintings) made by the Founder Secretary of the centre of art and culture called Abhibyakti. The University submitted a proposal to Dept of  Higher Education to that effect and the HE Dept has sought advice from LDC regarding the mode of donation.

 

The University has decided to develop a Certificate Course on Child Rights and Child Protection with support from WBSCPCR and a workshop ( conducted by Prof Asokendu Sengupta,(Chairman, WBSCPCR) had been organized for the School of Social Sciences.

A student workshop was organized by HRLN ( Human Rights Law Network) in the Dept of Law.

International visitors like Prof Vanessa Burholt ( University of Swansea, UK), Dr Cherie McKeich ( University of Melbourne), Dr Paul Sharrad and Dr Michael Griffiths ( University of Wollongong, Sydney) gave lectures at the University.

 

The University has signedMOU with University of Wollongong ( Australia) and the Universitat Rovira Virgili ( Spain) for student and staff exchange and mutual knowledge dissemination.

The University also organized an international conference in collaboration with the Australia India Council and Oxford University Press on 27-28 January, 2015.

Dr.Subhas khajanchi, Visited H.Lee Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida, USA, during July 18, 2016 to July 22, 2016 and delivered a talk titled, "A Mathematical Model to Elucidate Brain Tumor Abrogation by Immunotherapy with T11 Target Structure."
